Thank you for the query.
You have have not mentioned you age, duration of your diabetes and the status of your diabetic control (i.e. FBS, PPBS, HbAic)
Azulix 1 MF forte is an oral hypoglycemic agent, composed of Glimeperide (1mg) and Metformin (1000mg). A single blood sugar reading may be normal, however, the long term control over a span of time is more important. This can be assessed by HbAic levels, which gives an idea of blood sugar control over 3 months. The HbAic levels should preferably be less than 7%.
Since, your physician has altered your regimen, I would advise you to follow the prescribed regimen. Trajenta Duo comprises of Linagliptin (DPPIV inhibitor) 2.5mg and Metformin 850 mg. Amaryl comprises of Glimeperide 1 mg. So if you carefully see in your regimen one new drug has been added (Linagliptin) and the the dose of one of your previous drug (metformin) has been reduced.
You have not given a complete information of your blood sugar status, hence it will be difficult to comment on why your regimen was changed. Probably, your primary physician found some aspect of your sugar control unacceptable.
Hope this helps you out.
