Suggest Procedure For Sore Throat, Congestion, Phlegm And Cough

Hi. I have had a sore throat, congestion, green phlegm, I lost my voice and had a cough for weeks. At the 10 day mark, I went to the dr and he prescribed me a doze of azithromycin because he said i had a chest infection and most likely laryngitis. Today I completed my treatment (2 pills first day and one pill for 5 days after) and my throat is so sore on one side only. I don t have any other symptoms and I do not have any indication of strep. It is Day 16 or 17. My throat pain switches from side to side and my ear aches as well on the same side. This pain is mostly relieved with 2 extra strength Advil.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post I would advise that you should get a throat swab culture done to know the causative organism and the appropriate antibiotic for it.
Change in antibiotic may be needed for curing the infection.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Regards. Thanks.
