Suggest Precautions To Be Taken In Case Of Lungs Infection
Yes, I have a friend that I am deeply concerned about! They use methamphetamine recreationally, and was recently diagnosed with a lung infection. The medications my friend takes is prednisone 50 mg tablets *1 a day for 3 days/ albuterol 90mcg per spray-(as needed every 6 hours) and a 5 day azithromyicin z-pack . Should I be concerned about her health in an emergent wAy? Or is she going to be okay? I ve been working on helping her be clean, and try and keep her busy with real life activities, as well as support. But I am greatly full of concern and great anxiety every time she is prescribed something. (As that adds to her meth use) please help me have some info/closure here!! Thanks!! Sincerely... A concerned friend
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you should consult pulmonologist for your friend. In lung infection, steroids are not given. Steroids are actually lower the immunity and flare up the infection. Your has been given prednisone. This is oral steroid. And this should not be given in lung infection. She also needs chest x ray to quantity infection and parts of lung involved. If infection is more or the involved lung part is larger than she may need dual antibiotics support. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. Wishing good health to your friend. Thanks.
