Suggest Pain Management When Diagnosed With DDD In T11-T12
Hi. My name is Candice. I am 34 years old and have been suffering from all over pain for over two years but it has been getting much worse. I just found out I have degenerative disk disease in T11-12 and T12-L1 and also facet arthrosis in L5-S1. I have positive ANA and am sure I have another disease such as Lupus, MS, or RA...something! I do not know what DDD is or facet arthrosis. What does this mean?
As per my clinical experience, the DDD is indicative of degenerative disc disorder. In this disorder, one gets problems of homeostasis between osteophytes, bone matrix formation and osteoblast, clast dysfunction from age related changes.
Facet arthrosis is indicative of narrowing of facet joints through secondary changes and which may pause the threat of compression of nerves exiting at that level giving neurological presentations. Kindly provide me scanned images of your MRI report during follow up discussion please.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
