I have hoarse voice since 3-4 years. My ENT specialist has diagonised it as Vocal Chord Paralysis Said.. its incurable thro medicines...may go for operation called something like ...tracheostry My age is 82.Do not wish to go for oeration at this age. Is there any way or Medicine which may improve my voice even a little... I am a chronic patient of R.A. & breathlessness. R A is in remission since 10 years and breathlessness is under control thro medicines & inhalers. Oblige me with your valuable advice. Thanks K.D.Agrawal
Hi Mr Agrawal K.D. There are no medicines which can help you in Vocal Cord Paralysis as this is concerned about the Nervous System. No recovery is known after the gap of 9 months. With your age to do the Surgery is also a bit risky as you are having a problem of RA and Breathlessness. The Surgery done now-a-days is lateralization of the cord and is done under local anesthesia. You may go ahead with this small procedure as it will help you for improved voice and may help in reducing breathlessness.
