Suggest Medications For Hematoma Of The Fingernails
Hi my name is Vel. I have a hematoma on my fingernail. It s been like 5wks & the blood coagulated in my fingers. I don t want to drill a hole in my nail ect... I see some of the blood loosened up due to me pressing on it everyday. It feel a little numb at times. What can I used otc to get my nail back the way it was.
Hi there,,,welcome to HCM -Subungual hematoma is one of the common nail bed injuries caused by a blunt or a sharp object.. -Use cold compression and analgesic to relief the pain and numbness to the area - If the pain is not relieved as above then 'nail trephination' should be the next step where a small hole is made in the nail where the blood is pooled, allowing it to drain.. - As the blood is in the dead space between the nail bed and nail plate, NO drug will able to reach there...So it has to be drained physically... -If it is not causing any pain or discomfort to you then you may also leave it as such and it will come out naturally with the growing nail.. Hope it will help you
