Suggest Medication To Reduce Swelling In Cut On Index Finger

I got a deep cut on my index finger about a week ago. Probably should have gotten stitches but its to late for that now. For the first few days the whole finger was swollen, but now it has reduced to just the cut area on the finger and is firm. There are no signs of discoloration. I would prefer not to see the doctor if possible. Are there any OTC medicines that will help reduce the swelling?

The swelling of the finger is a result of inflammation following the injury.Tablets containing seretiopeptidase can help reduce the inflammation. Oral antibiotics like cefadroxyl can also be used. Topical mupirocin cream can be applied over the wounded area to prevent secondary infection. However you must consult your doctor immediately. Regards
