Suggest Medication For Sleeplessness

My name is Taylor. I am 19 and weigh 190lbs and am 5'11". I have recently messed up my body's internal clock. I was awake until 4 am last night. Then I napped during the day on Wednesday. Now it's 3AM and I can t sleep and i must be awake at 6:30. What can i do to get myself back into a healthy sleep cycle and stop feeling constantly tired? Some have said that I should stay awake until the next night without napping so ill be good and tired to fall asleep at 10 pm.

Hi,

Thank you for positing your query.

I have noted your problems and noted that you are suffering from sleep-wake cycle disorder.

This disorder was caused by habitual staying up until 4 am.

For you, the best option is the use of melatonin tablets.

The usual dose of melatonin is 3 mg taken 2-3 hours prior to sleep time. The onset of action of this drug occurs within 30 minutes, and it is very safe.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
