Hi Doc, I have 7 week old baby diagnosed with reflux. His weight is 5.2 kg and is gaining weight. Remains unsettled. We have been giving him losec 5 mg twice a day 1 ml and Zantac 1 ml mid day from past 4 weeks but his situation has nt improved at all. Can if increase medication or is there any other medication we should try. Thanks ... Smita

Hi...a 7 week old baby weighing 5.2 kg is a well baby. Please do not use any medications at this age. Reflux needs to be treated only if the weight is low and is hampering the growth and development.

No need to increase the medication. Infact I urge you to stop all drugs.

If the baby's weight is normal it is not reflux and it is only regurgitation which is quite common in this age group. It is physiological.
