General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Every person with prostatomegaly does not require medicines but if you have symptoms such as difficulty in urination the medicines should be started.

Tamsulosin which is an alfa blocker acts by relaxing bladder muscles thus making it easier to urinate.

Dutasteride which is an alfa reductase inhibitor works by blocking hormones which trigger prostatomegaly.

Please consult a urologist for a different treatment option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
