Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should consult pulmonologist first rather than taking haphazard antibiotics.
Pneumonia is caused by bacterial infection. So better first isolate the causative organism and then start appropriate treatment.
This is the best way to treat pneumonia.
So consult pulmonologist and get done sputum culture and sensitivity report. If sputum is not available then get done bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) culture and sensitivity.
Culture will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide you about effective antibiotic treatment.
By this we can achieve quick recovery in pneumonia and prevent drug resistance.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
