Suggest Medication For Passing Of Dark Stools After Removal Of Appendix

I had my appendix removed a few weeks ago, and now I'm having really bad pains when I go poo, and I have been noticing that I have black poo (today was the second day of it). I know that having black stools is not good, but I would like to know what it could be a result of, along with the pain when I go #2.

Hello,

The consistency of the stool, color, appearance all depend upon the diet taken, it is the common cause seen, in your case looking to the history of appendectomy, GI bleeding could be the cause although it is less likely but it can not be taken as granted and condition need to be ruled out for the same, and for that I would advise sending the stool for routine testing, meanwhile take care in diet, second medicine may be the cause of color change of stool, drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
