Suggest Medication For Lower Back Pain After Having Spinal Lumbar Puncture

I ve had lower back pain for six months after having a spinal lumbar puncture. I ve tried over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol and motrin but it doesn t seem to help. I m 26 and never had back pain before. My doctor prescribed an oral steroid. should I have xray?

Yes, you may want to consider an x ray since there is no previous history of pain prior to the procedure.

The x ray would help to rule out a bony cause for the pain.

If the x ray is normal then the pain may be muscular or other soft tissue causes.
