Suggest Medication For Congestion And Itching On Throat

I have a couple of things happening at the moment and wanted to know if I could get some OTC of if I needed to go to the hospital. 1 - severely congested and spitting out think green phlegm 2 - throat is constantly itching and causing uncontrollable coughing 3 - windpipe hurts and feels like it rattles every time I cough 4 - left ear is stopped up for the past 3 days

Hello,

You seem to be suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection from the symptoms that you had mentioned. I would recommend the following to those who come to my clinic with similar symptoms:
1) If fever is present, tab. Acetaminophen 500mg every 6th hourly.
2) Throat infection and other respiratory problems can be treated by tab. Azithromycin 500mg daily once for 3 days.
3) Drink warm water and gargles twice daily with warm salt water are recommended.
4) You can have any OTC cough syrup like Mucolite.

If your symptoms don't subside even after 3-4 days, you need to consult a physician.
