Suggest Medication For Blurry Vision Due To Reinitis Pigmentosa
Hello.... I have a 35 year old daughter who has Usher syndrome which includes retinitis pigmentosa. She is now complaining of blurry vision in one eye off and on for the last few weeks. More so in the morning. Eye drops seem to help a little. She can blink a lot and it clears up. Any suggestions?

The fact that the vision clears up on blinking the eyes shows that she could be having dry eye ( though it is more common in both eyes, one might have preceded the other). The itermittent bllurring of vision may not be due to retinitis pigmentosa ( if vision gets blurred in this disease it is constant due to macular involvement). She can try lubricating eye drops ( though it has not helped her yet) and continue its use along with lubricating eye ointment at bedtime ( Lacrilube eye ointment).If this does not help in a week or two, then it is better to get the eye examined by an ophthalmologist for a closer look.
