Suggest Medication For Blisters On The Donor Site After Reconstructive Surgery.
Dear Doctor,
My fater 72 years old had reconstructive surgery on 27-Dec-11. His graft site and donor sites were healing satisfactorily within 14 days. Finally he was advised to start taking bath as usual. and to apply Soframycin cream on the graft site and a mix of Betnovate ointment and body lotion in equal rations at the donor site. Only a few days back he felt itching at the donor site on his right thigh and unconsciously scratched the site which caused a little bleeding. the site was cleaned with betadine lotion and the same betnovate ointment and bodylotion mix was applied. After a few hours blisters were formed at some places on the donor site however with no further bleeding or pain. The blisters were looking like a dark red swollen areas. I stopped the betnovate mix and continued with the betadine ointment with a paraffin gauze dressing(Jelonet) over the donor site. Currently the blisters remain the same with no significant reduction in size or colour. Please advise
