I thought it was a bite or sting at first. There was a tiny "hole" it seemed, which at that point appeared to be the bite. Just around that, about nickle sized, the skin was swollen and white, and around that it was just red. It really looked like a bite to me at that point. The first change about 30 min later ....white swollen circle dissapeared, and it was just red but much darker, larger, and smooth. Hot. No swelling. Now im really confussed... I'm just realizing at this point that the lighter actually might have somehow ignited and caused this. (in my back right pocket.. as im using my body to catch the spring of the storm door to unlock the main front door. i know, i didnt beleive it either.)The next change...The redness went away, no swelling... one skinny long mark, purpleish. No longer than a match, about a quarter of an inch wide, but not stick straight. This is when the final change occured and it has been this way since. It is now raised, hard, hot, and huge. The center is reddest, hardest, and numb. About the size of a golf ball. The entire area is raised and hard and extremely hot to the touch. The next "section" is red but not nearly as bad as the center, still raised and hard. Then it seems its outlined with a white line. Im already pale and have sensitive skin, but this is actually white. Seems the entire thing is a perfect circle. The changes I mentioned all happened within about 2 hours. It has been about 30 hours sence the insident and it has been consistant as far as the general appearence. It's extremely hot, throbbing, and itching. The entire thing is now the size of my entire extened hand. I cant really associate pain with it... just a constant burning sensation and major irritation. It's insainly uncomfortable. My concern is that it won't heal as it should due to its location smack dab in the center of my bottock, and the lack of circulation and amount of friction and irriation every time I sit down. I'm assuming I smiply need an antibiotic ointment? Is it going to blister? How do I help it to heal as quickly as possible? Should I see a doctor just in case... or is there no reason to be concerned? 24yrs/5'/115lbs
