Suggest Exercises That Can Help Relieve Numbness And Tingling In The Fingers

Hi, 2 weeks ago I started having numbness and tingling in my right pointer finger, with the pressure mounting under my nailbed and the very tip of my finger becoming very uncomfortable. Gradually the tingling moved to my middle finger especially the tip and up to my elbow. It is now going to the ring finger. This morning I woke up with a lot of pain in my hand with most of it in the middle finger. I suspect a pinched nerve. Is there an exercise I can do for this ? Thank you, Connie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the hand.

I suggest to do gentle stretching exercises for relieve.

I also suggest to maintain a splint to prevent further damage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
