Suggest Dosage Of Prednisone For Swelling And Pain In Knee
I am 56 years rheumatism patient from 2010. took predinisol 5mg for 1 and 1/2 years along with methotexrate 15mg inj. folic acild, calcium. I am managing my pains now only with methotexrate 15mg inj. recently my left knee joint is swollen little bit and painining. shall take again predinisol 5 mg for some period. if yes please prescribe the dose and how to taper it.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the joint condition then it can be taken steroid but it need to be taken in taper manner, like the dose need to be reduce gradually every day, if it is not being done then better to complete it, initially begins with 20 mg per day then reduce it with 5 mg every after second day till you reach the last dose of 5 mg once in day hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
