Suggest Dosage For Xanax

70 yo cousin very stressed with alz wife. I gave him ativan 1 mg when visiting. Today MD gave rx for xanax. He just asked if it was ok and like what I gave him. Quick look on net seems like it may be stronger. True? Thinking to tell him to try half pill and be alert to drowsiness. Thank you.

It is stronger. It is shorter duration of action. Due to the strenght and short duration of action, it feels like more of an effect. Also, it has a bit of a roller coaster of highs and lows and because of this it has the highest rate of addiction of any sedative.
