Suggest Dosage For Promethazine

My daughter is in Drug Court and is being tested for drugs in her system 3 times a week. She was really nausiated last night, and I gave her a 25MG of PROMETHAZINE TWO TIMES. Will it affect her drug test? She is doing really well, and now I am afraid I might have jeopardized that.

Hello,

She might show a false positive test for amphetamine (methamphetamine) and cannabinoids. The plasma half-life of promethazine is about 10 to 19 hours (time taken by the body to eliminate 50% of the drug). It takes on average 5.5 plasma half-lives for a drug to be eliminated from your system.

With a plasma half-life of 10 to 19 hours, promethazine will be mostly out of her system in at least two to four days. So, if tested during this time she may show a false positive test for amphetamine/methamphetamine and cannabinoids (marijuana).
