Suggest Dosage For Diazepam

Hi! I have been on 10 mg diazepam per day, along with 150 mg lamotrigine per day for seizures (grand mal, etc.) Is that a tiny dose of diazepam? I would perhaps like to cut it in half for a while and then discontinue it. I also take 10 mg melatonin per night, as prescribed by my neurologist. Sincerely, Diana

Hello Diana,

I can undetstand your concern. However, it is very difficult to advise regarding reducing the dose of the medicine you are taking based on the information you have given. It requires history regarding your grand mal seizures, its frequency, intensity, improvement in disorder over time etc.

I would advise you not to change the dose without consulting your prescribing doctor first who knows all the details about your disorder chronologically and can take decision regarding the medicine after inveetigating your current health status.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
