Hi! My daughter is 3 years old and she was effected from viral fever one week back which got subisded. Since 3 days she is not taking food, only little quantity is taking and drinking lots of water. Now I am giving Cypon Syrup 2.5ml to her and her weight is 11.5 kgs. Is the dosage ok ! Can she likes to eat by giving the above syrup ?
Cypon syrup is mainly used as an appetite booster in children and to counteract the inflammatory signs like redness, swelling etc. It is basically an antihistaminic and is also used for respiratory tract infection and to induce sleep. For an age of 3 years and with a weight of 24 - 35 pounds (i.e. 11 - 16 kgms), the dose should be 1tsf i.e. 5 ml once daily or 2.5 ml twice daily. Use the dosing device provided with the medicine, and do not give more than directed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
