General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What Dermatologist has suggested for hair loss problem of yours is proper. You need to be patient as with use of the suggested medication, results would take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years. You may have to continue this treatment until 5 years.
You should start appreciating results by 2 to 4 months with regular use of these medications.
Foods which could aid in hair growth include: Salmon fish and oysters, yellow peppers, jaggery, eggs, sunflower seeds, sweet potatoes, avocados, almonds, citrus fruits and soya milk.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
