Suggest Diet Plan To Control Diabetes In TB Patient

Hello, my father is recently diagnosed diabetic and to have TB simultaneously, the test report came around 2 weeks ago. When he first diagnosed diabetic the sugar reading was 25. Now we are working on lowering the sugar, he is exercising and having medicines for diabetes and TB both [not insulin]. But the problem is father is not feeling good, like tiredness, uncomfortable feeling at the chest, cough when tend to talk, occasional spinning head...and related discomforts. My query is,what should be the diet plan for him? what should be the plan to manage both diabetes and TB medicine and make them work. please suggest ASAP. thank you.

Hi thanks for asking question.
Take low sweets.
Take more potato in the diet.
Take omega 3 fatty acid containing food like whole pulse, fish.
Take green leafy vegetables.
Take antioxidant rich fruit and vegetables like carrot, cherry etc.
Avoid high fatty diet.
Take more protein like egg white.
This is the diet reccomendation to you for both TB and DM.
Don't worry.with this he will feel best.

Your father needs high protein diabetic diet. Give him milk twice a day without sugar. Sprouts in morning breakfast. Try to in corporate small and frequents meals. Can also give soya milk if he wish but diabetic one. Include paneer in his daily routine. If he have cough don't give curds or buttermilk. Can give Desi channa it is also good. Can include soya sabji twice week. Soya paneer tofu twice a week. Fruits preferred in morning. No juices at all. Don't give him outside food as it causes infection fast. Give him dal thick twice a day. No spicy foods. No cold drinks. Don't give simple carbohydrates as they increase sugar levels. Avoid using plain sugar. With his height weight reports and diet routine consult dietician.
