Suggest Diet And Lifestyle Changes After Removal Of Kidney
I m having my right kidney removed on Jan 9th. It s got a stone in it the size of the kidney. How will I have to change my life because of only one kidney? Any special foods I will need to be aware of? I m 60 yrs old hoping to live a few more years with one kidney. My Dad is 90 and only has one kidney. Any suggestions?
Some advises that I can give to you about the diet are:
- drink at least twelve glasses of water daily.
- drink citrus juices, such as orange juice.
- eat a calcium-rich food at each meal, at least three times a day.
- limit your intake of animal protein.
- eat less salt, added sugar, and products containing high fructose corn syrup.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
