Suggest Cure For Reoccurring Sore Throat And Cough Caused By Nasal Drip

I have had a reoccurring sore throat and cough caused by nasal drip down my throat. No headaches, no fever, no sinus pressure, etc. Went to the doc in a box and was given a steroid nasal spray. It upset my stomach. This has been going on for more than a month. Now my husband has the same symptoms. We live in a wet climate. Could the cause be mold in our house?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
The fact that steroid spray was given suggests an allergy, and household mold is a major culprit. You would need to improve the ventilation in the house. Reduce contact with plants and pets, if any.
Try regular steam inhalations with a few drops of tincture of benzoin and a few drops of saline in the nose several times a day. Drinking enough water and hot green tea could also help.
If the above do not work, you would need to see an ENT to confirm that there is no problem in the nose or throat.
