Suggest Correction For A Behavioral Problem

My 7 year old daughter is abnormally shy. She does not respond to people when spoken to. We have to continually urge her to respond. She is fine with us her immediate family but with classmates it is a the complete opposite. She is in the second month of first grade and she has rarely spoken to anyone at school. Is there any kind of disorder which can explain this type of behavior?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion she seems to be an introvert child rather than have some disorder. You should respect her nature and not force her to speak up. Rather you can do role play of the class and give her the practice of how she can speak in class. Praise all her efforts.
I hope I have helped you
Thank you
