Suggest Cause For Stomach Pain With Frequent Nausea

Hello, last night I was awaken by pain in my stomach, around my navel area, got up to use the restroom cause I thought my stomach was upset, later realized that wasn t the case. Went to work, still with the same pain, throughout the day the pain moved to my right side and has since moved to my lower right side. I took my lunch break around 2pm, tried to eat but felt nauseated and I ve had chills and sweats all day. The pain is tolerable but the nausea seems to be getting worse. What do you think is the problem and when should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of you getting pain in the abdomen and thought of going to pass BM as though the stomach was upset but it was not, went to the work, the pain continued, settled to lower right side with worsening nausea, chills and sweating all the day.
As per the history you have provided, this looks to be due to one the following:
Appendicitis.
Urinary tract infection.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Tests of blood, urine and stool.
Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen.
Clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon and getting started on appropriate foods and so.
Once diagnosed, you may need an antibiotic and supportive therapy as per the symptoms and signs.
Take care to see that you get a complete course of an antibiotic and metronidazole, probiotics.
If the ultrasonography or a CT scan shows appendicitis, you may need to undergo a surgery of appendectomy and medical management of the attendant symptoms.
