Hello,

Newborn babies typically lose weight for the first ten days or so after birth. But then a healthy full-term infant should gain 15-30 grams a day. Unless a baby is fed too much or is not able to tolerate an ingredient in the formula, a good quality formula should not cause vomiting or diarrhea. Your newborn has lost ten percent of her body weight. It is urgent that you take her to her pediatrician immediately.`

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology Dr. Sumanth Amperayani's  Response
Hello,

Bottle feeding might be the culprit here. I suggest you that you stop feeding with a bottle (if you are using one) and use a spoon for feeding the kid. Bottle feeding is the most common reason for diarrhea and loss of weight in kids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
