Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Itchy Scalp
My scalp feels like it is itching, I have been to the dermatologist and they gave me a scalp medication and told me to take antihistamine morning and night. My scalp is not dry or flaky nor did it look abnormal to the dermatologist not pink or red scalp . I have followed their instructions for a month and the problem still exists. My question is I need to see someone again and was wonder if this could be a neurological issue and only feel like an itch and maybe I should see my neurologist instead of the dermatologist. was wondering what you thought or what other things make the scalp feel like it is itching

I really appreciate your concern, it may be idiopathic kind of pruritus or it may be steroid responsive it can be given try with local steroid application like Beclomethasone and in oral preparation Tab Hydroxyzine 10 mg three time in day, if this fails to work then it may be functional hope this information helps.
