Suggest An Alternative Of Brilinta

I recently had a metal stint placed in my heart and a pacemaker implanted. I was prescribed Brilinta which is extremely expensive to prevent blood clotting. I am 76yrs old and don t want to stay on Brilinta due to the cost. I am having another (Kidney)surgery in the near future thus the Drs reasoning for using a metal stint. I wish they had used the other type stint and delayed the surgery. How can I avoid using Brilinta?

Hi,

Brilinta is a brand name of Ticagrelor. You can consult a physician and switch to conventional antiplatelets which are cheaper alternatives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
