Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Steroids To Cure Migraine Headache

My daughter is suffering from severe migraine headaches. They started about 3 months ago. While she s having a headache one of her pupils open all the way. She has gone to a neurologist who told her they believe it is hemi-cranial nerve inflamation and have prescribed a very strong steroid. To complicate matters she has an ulcer in her stomach and shouldn t be on the steroids at all. The headaches are daily and sometimes cause her to vomit they are so severe. She had a CT Scan and an MRI to rule out a tumor. She also went to an eye doctor to rule out the issue was her eye. Are there other types of medications she can try besides the steroid? Her gastro doctor seemed very concerned about her taking them.

Hi,

Greetings from Healthcare Magic!

Antimigraine medications such as Migranil and Vasograin are to be taken at the onset of attack. Also, Divalproex sodium and Sibelium are used in migraine prophylaxis.

Thanks & regards,
