Suggest Alternative To Steroids For Treatment Of Myasthenia Gravis

I have some serious issues related to eyes from childhood. Short sight, double vision etc. I can adjust with those conditions using specs. But later on deadly myesthinia gravis caught me and it became difficult for me to open my eyes. Taking steroid omnocortil helped me. Now I am 26 and keep on consuming steroid. I know this is due to some hormonal issues and already I am showing some side effects. Please let me know if there is a way to cure or control this without steroids.

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Several alternative immunotherapies are available for the treatment of myasthenia gravis (see Patient care guidelines). ... Nevertheless, larger randomized, comparative trials with prednisone and azathioprine have shown responses to corticosteroid treatment in the order of 70 to 90%.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
