Suggest Alternate Over The Counter Medication For Effexor

My daughter is being prescribed Calotapin and effexor. I want to know if there is something on the market that could help her with out making her sleep. She has hit the guardrail on 71 three times now. I m aftaid she will kill herself or someone else. No one seems to care. YYYY@YYYY

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

The dosage depends upon the age of the patient. It is simply not advisable to choose any over-the-counter medicine in place of Effexor. If she is having suicidal thoughts then she has to consult a psychiatrist immediately.

There are many drugs available in the market but your doctor will prescribe suitable medication for her.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
