Suggest Alternate Medicine For Encorate Chrono 300 Mg Without Weight Gain Side Effect

Hi, I had been using encorate chrono 300 mg from january 2014. And i am seeing a weight gain of 10 kgs by now. My diet has reduced but inspite of it i am gaining weight. Can you please tell me how to counter attack this problem? Is there any alternate medicine which does not have weight gain side effect but has the same effect of encorate chrono 300 mg. I shall discuss regarding the same with my neurologist too but please advice prior to that from your end. Bala.

I can understand your problem nothing to worry.
Weight gain with normal or even reduced appetite is a common side effect of Encorate chrono.
The other drugs with same efficacy but less like to cause weight gain include Topiramate, Amitryptiline, etc. Inj Botox which is given into the muscles of neck and fore head is found to be effective in preventing migraine for about 3 months.
Consult your neurologist with this background information and take his opinion.
