Suggest A Diet Plan While Having An Upset Stomach And Vomiting Of Blood

Since last Friday, Dec. 29, y wife has been prescribed Flagyl 4x daily as well as Tetracycline 4x daily for H. Pylori (?/Spelling). On Thursday, Jan. 4 she shall undergo an endoscopy to see if the blood she has vomited is from a stomach ulcer. She is experiencing stomach upset. I myself have used Flagyl for Cryptosporidium (Sp?), and vividly remember the feeling, which is cold comfort for her. Any suggestions about food?

Hello,

Yes, there are smaller food contraindications associated with medication especially the proton pump inhibitors. You need to take medication as per the timing provided by your doctor.

Second thing is avoid spicy foods, oily foods and late-night heavy meals.

For the pain management, do not take any type of pain killer, especially the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ones.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muzaffer Hussain Parray
