HI My mother has been on acitrom since 1999 and she is about 80 years old now. She is weak and many times her PT report don t show proper numbers. I am flying to India to visit my father who has been hospitalized and would like to know what medications like over the counter can I take for my mother without interfering with her heart issues. She underwent Mitral valve replacement in 1999 Also my father has serious diabetes for past 40+ years. He was hospitalized this last week. He has prostate issues and his PSR numbers are high. He seems not to want to eat. He underwent hip surgery in 2013 and they removes his rods and screws last week. He has severe congestion and wasn t able to breathe. He has lost his will to live since then. However I would like to take any over the counter medicines for him to help. His B12 and Sodium levels always are low and hence he becomes semi lucid.
