Suggest OTC Medication To Heal A Wounded Tongue Due To Self Bite

Hi, first time here, thanks for being there. Unbelievable thing happened to me, I bite my tongue 5 days ago and without thinking I touched with my finger meanwhile cleaning with a solution on bleach and water. It hurts bad when I am eating. Also, I was taking Benadryl for few weeks and my mouth was really dry. May I get something over the counter to hEAL this sore? Thanks

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain due to tongue bite there is inflammation of tongue leading to pain and sore formation..

-You should apply cold packs over the sore area of tongue..
-Do warm saline gargles..
-pply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it for relief..
-Gargling with antimicrobial mouthwash will be helpful in reducing the bacterial flourishment and will avid infection..
-Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for relief..
-Take soft and cool diet and avoid spicy and hot food to prevent irritation..

If not improved consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..
