I am 50 years old. Since last 3 years I am suffereing from IBS. My all reports are normal. When problem started during Jan. 2010 I lost my 15 kg weight in a short span of 2 months though now it is stable however I have not gained the lost weight. My weight is 67 Kg. Height is 5'7". I am married. My problem is of stool in bulk volume. In morning I used to go twice and after second time I feel very eneasyness. I feel fatigue and very less sleep. Ia m taking some ayurvedic and homeopathic medicine also. More of sitting job. After checkup at leading hospitals doctors advice for Providac. But when problem persists after every one and half month I have to take dose of Oflox for relief.
Kindly advice.

Dear friend,

Thanks for posting your query on this website. I can fully appreciate your concern for problem.

You are apparently suffering from mal-absorption syndrome, given the fact that you lost 15kg weight. It may be super-imposed by concurrent IBS, in view of mental stress (disturbed sleep, fatigue).

I strongly recommend the following :-

1. Stool examination + culture to isolate the culprit organism (such as, amoeba, giardia, c. diff etc..). Revert back to me with the report.

2. In the meantime, I suggest that you give a trial of the following medicines:-

(a) XXXX for 2 weeks. (1/2 kit twice daily).

(b) Tab XXXX 50mg daily after dinner, for 30 days.

(c) Tab XXXX 400mg - one tablet on alternate days - total of 3 tablets (to be chewed and then swallowed with water)

(d) Tab XXXX 5mg - one tablet daily empty stomach.

I am confident that you will certainly benefit significantly from the advice.

May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.

Please feel free to revert back to me after 2 weeks with information regarding the degree of relief.

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

Fond Regards,

Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
