Strong Pain In Forearm With Swelling. Why Does It Happen?

my husband was working and moving a piece of wood when he felt bolts of strong pain in his forearm. Ever since then his forearm is swollen and there is a lot of pain. we have used ice and wrapped it to control the pain but that does not seem to help. It happened about 10 hours ago.. What could it be and what should we try next.

Hi,
From history it seems that he might have torn fore arm muscles and got heavy strain on the part.
Give rest to the part.
Continue applying ice pack.
Give him NSAID medicine with muscle relaxant.
If require, consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Ok and take care.
