Where is the swelling? Is it in the neck or throat? If it is in the neck it could
thyroid swelling? Or it could be thyroglossal cyst? You say
TSH is off the scale and I think it could be related to thyroid. If it is thyroglosssal cyst surgery maybe required. If it is thyroid swelling we need to whether it is overactive (TSH low) or underactive (TSH high). Treatment depends on the cause.
If the swelling is in the throat it could be
adenoids. Then he needs surgery.
But it will be correctable under any conditions. It will be benign swelling.
