Could be heart problems, a reaction to meds or anxiety. Maybe go ask a doctor.

Every few months or so (sometimes it even skips 5-6 months) I will wake up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding in my chest, and I will be able to feel my pulse in my ears. Everything will seem to be moving too fast around me, and my hands will seem very small, and I will feel dizzy or disoreinted when I try to walk. In the past I have woken up my mother because this feeling really freaks me out, and when she talks it will sound weird and feel as if her words are echoing in my mind. What could this be caused by?

For the last couple of months I have been waking up intermittently in the middle of the night around 2:30 to 3:30 am. I feel like I have to stretch and when I do I immediately start having heart palpations and my heart rate is well over 100 and it is bounding, sometimes this happens after a bad dream so I thought maybe I was having a panic attack but this week I have these episodes every night. I had an EKG done yesterday and it was normal. I had my thyroid level checked to because I take synthroid 137 mcg but my TSH was 1.67. Could this just be anxiety?
