So For This Particular Question I'm Going To Focus On

So for this particular question i'm going to focus on something that has been getting rather annoying. Four months ago, i hurt my leg while trying to close a U-hual and the area swelled up about a foot down my leg. This bruising (and swelling) lasted for up to two months, but thankfully has receded. SAdly, just last month as i was trying to break up a petty fight between my dogs over ice, the hunting dog hybrid snapped onto my left hand ring finger. it was bruised badly and very swollen, and could not move it but at a 25 degree angle. THe bruising has lessened, but since september it has been a reddish purple right at the distal interphalangeal, where it is also swollen at the right to the size of maybe a pea to a marble, and i still cant make a full fist with it, it always pokes out. Could something have fractured when the dog bit down on the joint? And if its not fractured, what can i do to reduce the swelling? I can't hold anything with that finger, and if it gets bent backwards, the pain is sharp and unbearable like being shocked by electricity.
