Small Black Painless Bump At Lower Lip Corner For 8 Yrs And Now Another In The Middle Of Inside Lower Lip.

I have had a small black bump at the corner of my lower lip for several years--7 or 8 at least. It is closer to dark blue than black, actually, and the skin around it is the regular lip color. There is no pain with it at all. Tonight I noticed that another one has appeared in the middle of the inside of my lower lip - it is flatter and seems to be more under the skin than on top of it. Again, no pain.

I tried to take a picture of them, but can't quite figure out how to do that.

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

I suspect it to be a benign condition called Fibroma.
Because this lump is longstanding and does not show significant growth or ulcer in the lump is mostly a benign condition and non cancerous.
You may have the chronic irritating of lip habits like cheek or lip biting, rubbing from a rough tooth, dentures or other dental prostheses.
The dark color may be due to the pigments from blood after recurrent small bleeding due to irritation.
It does not cause any symptoms apart from feel and appearance.

As it is there for 8 years and new lesion is appearing, you can consult the surgeon and remove the fibroma.
But this may recur, if you continue the have irritating habits like lip biting.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
