Should Ovaries Be Removed During A Vaginal Hysterectomy For Bladder Prolapse?
I am a 55 year old women. I am going to have a vaginal hysterectomy for uterine and bladder prolapse. I need to decide if I want the Dr. to take my ovaries too. I m unsure what the best course of action if to take. I m in the middle of menopause, but not yet post menopausal. What advice can you give me?
Ovaries need not be removed for prolapse. The ovaries are removed for conditions like fibroid and other related conditions. Moreover, it is difficult to remove ovaries through vaginal route.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
