Should My Husband Continue With Krislow?

Hello Doctor, My husband is 63 yrs old ,and had started taking Krislow 100 mg alongwith some other medicines, beta blockers etc,as he was diagnosed with about 70% blockage in a couple of major arteries. in April this year.He is wondering if he should continue to take Krislow,as he has no symptoms otherwise and does not want to be over-medicated.He has already been put off 2 medicines...Atorvastatin,and Nicorandil.

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best way possible. Kris low is co enzyme Q and it has a theoretical role in preventing coronary blockage from progressing by acting as an anti oxidant. It has no major side effects.

I suggest you continue with the medication as it would help you. Also take some time for regular exercise and follow the dietary restrictions to prevent further progression of the blockade.
