Should I Consult A Doctor As I Am Having Cough After The Intake Of Nitrofurantoin Monohyd Macro 100mg?
I have been taking Nitrofurantoin MOnohyd Macro 100mg twice daily for 10 days. I had mild side effects: mild nusea, mild stomach irritation, mild headache some days and chills 2 days. I dont worry about this. But on 7th day of taking my eye was blocked with stuff (after night) & started to have dry cough which still continue after 2 days being off medicine (10 days passed), specially serious during bed time & night. Should I do anythig about cough? It says on leaflet (Contact doctor in case of cough..) Or I just wait until it goes away. My husband has mild flu for last 2 days as well so note sure this is effect of medicine or other infection...

nasal stuffiness is due to viral infection especially due to flu and cold weather.it is not the effect of medicine, because you got it after 7 days.you might be having fever also. please note the fever on thermometre reading.the infection might be from your husband, i cant say exactly.nitro furantoin which you are using is for U.T.I i suppose.rigors will also be there in uti and also in viral fever.
