Should I Be Concerned About The Slit Above Tonsil And Strep Throat?
Should I be concerned if I see a small slit above my tonsil on one side? I am a 45 y/o female who recently had a sore throat thought to be strep throat (negative on quick screen), but now I think it might have been a recurrence of mono (had about 1 yr ago) the way my symptoms hung on after a Z-pak. I am feeling better now, but wonder if a trip to an ENT is in order to check out the slit.

The split you are seeing called called as crypt and the one above the tonsil is the bigger called as crypta magna means big slit ..its normal anatomy...just relax don't worry...take care.
