Should I Smear 3 Testing Areas With Different Stool Samples For Stool O&P X3 For Possible Parasite Infection?

Hi, I was told to do a Stool O&P x3 for a possible parasite infectiom. The instructions on the test kit was a bit vague, my question is do I smear the 3 testing areas with different samples and if I do how long should I wait between each stool sample I provide.

Hello there!
Thank you for asking.Ideally, a series of 3 samples should be submitted, with collection every other day because of the intermittent nature of parasite shedding.Freshly collected stool samples should be transported to the lab immediately. Liquid samples should be examined within 30 minutes, and all other samples within 1 hour of collection.Other wise they should be preserved in 5 or 10% formalin solution or PVA polyvinyl alcohol.

Good Luck Buddy.
